Good Deed in South Africa
Oprah has opened a school in South Africa for young girls. Its actually a private Leadership Academy, and Oprah personally selected the kids who will attend when it opens in January, 2007. She paid for everything, structure, books, uniforms, everything. Wish I could do it like that......She has spend 40 million so far. Read the article, http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/Africa/08/26/btsc.koinange/index.html or better yet, watch the video. http://www.cnn.com/video/player/player.html?url=/video/world/2006/08/25/koinange.oprah.africa.school.affl&wm=10 I'm deep in books, trying to learn how to pick a jury.......

I don't see the problem with wanting to help young girls become independent, self-sufficent young women. I think the world could use more women who know their worth absent a man standing beside them. What's wrong with actually knowing you don't need a man (as opposed to just thinking you don't need a man)?
The problem is it messes with the natural order. There isn't a problem helping young girls obtain the tools they need to survive, on their own, if they need to. However, when both girls and boys of a society need help obtaining these tools, but you neglect the boys and teach the girls they don't need the boys, what future does that society have? Men need women and women need men for a society to function correctly and have a future.
